Будинок є складовою садиби, яка з кінця ХVIII ст. належала київському купцю Ф. Лакерді та його нащадкам, у 1902 р. перейшла у власність купця А. Фролова. У 1913–1915 рр. на замовлення власника садиби на місці розібраного двоповерхового цегляного будинку ХІХ ст. збудовано новий шестиповерховий на підвалі, цегляний будинок, який виходить на червону лінію забудови вулиці. Є підстави вважати автором проєкту київського архітектора К. Шимана. Головний фасад відзначається динамізмом і багатством пластичного оформлення, у його архітектурі простежується синтез двох художніх систем: модерну та еклектики. Вертикаль будівлі підкреслена асиметричними розкріповками, що увінчуються фігурними щипцями. Фасад прикрашено ліпними художніми вставками з орнаментами готичного і барокового характеру, в картуші вхідного порталу – монограма власника латинськими літерами – «АР».

Monument of architecture and urban planning of local significance
The building is part of an estate that, since the late 18th century, belonged to the Kyiv merchant F. Lakerdi and his descendants, and in 1902 became the property of the merchant A. Frolov. In 1913–1915, at the request of the estate’s owner, a new six-storey brick building with a basement was constructed on the site of a dismantled two-storey 19th-century brick house. The new structure faces the red building line of the street. There is reason to consider Kyiv architect K. Shyman the author of the project.
The main facade is notable for its dynamism and rich plastic decoration; its architecture reflects a synthesis of two artistic systems: Art Nouveau and Eclecticism. The verticality of the building is emphasized by asymmetric projections crowned with shaped gables. The façade is adorned with stucco artistic inserts featuring Gothic and Baroque-style ornaments, and in the cartouche of the entrance portal one finds the owner’s monogram in Latin letters – «АР».
